Finality of Islam

and the Reburtal of Perennialism

This essay, originally published in Arable under the title la Prahund Anatoes of the Moming of Belief in the last Dev) Investigates the concept of faith (man) in God and

the Last Day within the Islamic tradition, specifically engaging with a contemporary heretical claim that seoks to decouple belief in Prophet Muhammad & from the necessary prerequisites for salvation. The proponent of this claim promotes the 'unity of religions' (lauld al-silvan) and asserts that belief in God and the Last Day alone suffices for divine reward on the Day of Judgment, trespective of belief in the prophethood of Muhammad A.

To legitimise his assertion, he misuses the Qur'anie worse: Surly those who hate belicool, and those of Jewry, the Christhans and the Sabians-whoreer belieses in Allah and the Last Day, and works rightousness, they shall have their wound with their Lont, and there shall be no fear for them, nor shall they grice (262).

Shaykh Abd-Allah al-Chumart presents a robust and comprehensive rebuttal of this heterodoxy. By analysing dassical exegeses (tafir) of the aforementioned Qur'anic vene along with other authoritative Islamic sources, including prophetic traditions and scholarly consensus (ima'), he demonstrates the centrality of belief in Prophet Muhammad & alongside bellef in God and the Last Day as a comerstone of Islamie faith and an indispensable prerequisite for salvation.
